Marcia represents and helps build great companies and also works with venture capitalists who finance them. Her work and interests are in the IT, life sciences, cleantech and semi-conductor industries. Marcia’s work with companies spans the entire corporate life cycle, including strategic decisions and coaching prior to incorporation, prospective investor introductions, general corporate representation and counseling, venture capital financings, employment matters, commercial contracts, public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Marcia focuses on formation and initial financing at the early stage, and works with businesses in their follow-up financing events, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, debt transactions and corporate governance matters. Marcia is one of the few attorneys in Silicon Valley who combines a dynamic emerging company practice with a top-tier venture capital investment representation practice, giving her insights, experience and connections relevant to entrepreneurs, companies and investors. She routinely represents venture capital firms in their investment activities, related business matters and counseling. Marcia received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and her B.A. in history from University of California, Berkeley, where she played on the CAL women’s basketball team. Prior to joining Gunderson Dettmer, Marcia was a partner at Heller Ehrman and a senior attorney at Venture Law Group. Early in her career as an attorney Marcia practiced in New York with Sullivan & Cromwell. Marcia Hatch is admitted to practice in California and New York.
